I paint and draw. However, I do not have your talent. I can not be in the same town as an art store and not get something. Even if it is one small tube of paint -I am gratified. I am addicted to Blick’s Art Materials. Thankfully, for my pocket book -it is 1 1/2 hours away. I don’t get to go very often.
Right now, I am painting (in oil, but I work with acrylic too) Captain America. One of the boys I follow, who is has a deadly form of malfunction of his backbone -being born outside his body (I just can’t find the name for it right now) Ah -Spinal bifida -loves Superman. So I painted it for him last year, and my son-in-law saw it. He had to have Captain America. He is even planning a whole line of anime superhero’s now.
I love to paint people and animals -but I don’t know that I want to focus that much on superhero’s.

Recently, I sent a Christmas gift to a boy, who is dying of cancer. I sent his mother a drawing, of her son. She didn’t even look for it -and apparently, threw it away. I was heartbroken -but then I didn’t send it to her for my pleasure, but hers -and she doesn’t know what she missed.

I hope you publish your art work because I want to see.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I only doodle for myself or as a gift. I so admire you painting for those kids! That is awesome! I don’t have the skill to paint or draw people. Mine always lood a bit demented. And just let me say….Dick Blick??? My favorite art catalog ever! I there was a store even close to me….it would not be good. God knew what He was doing putting me in the middle of nowhere!!!

Me too! I live on top of a hill, surrounded by trees, out in the country by a very small town. I have to drive at least an hour to hit anything worth shopping at. But, I love it. I can’t imagine living a different lifestyle. I always knew I was a country girl even during the years I was raised in a big city. My dad grew up here -and well, its where I wanted to be -all my life.
