The heads are all turning color, and the grain is filling.  In about a month, harvest will be here.

      It requires a certain amount of heat. It really is quite pretty to see all the color it provides in the fall.

    Thought this was maize. Least that’s what we call it in Texas. Ours was ready for harvest about a month ago. Love this crop. The color of the fields ever changes throughout the season. Our fields are plowed, waiting for winter grains.

      Yes, it’s called Maize, Milo or Sorghum depending on who is talking. I thinks it’s an absolutely beautiful crop. We are planting winter wheat right now – only other crop.
