SERIOUS SATURDAY

image

One of my favorite places in the world is my green house –when it’s clean.  Note to self : chickens do not belong in the greenhouse!  You are forbidden from housing them in here, ever again!

One of my least favorite places is my greenhouse– when it’s dirty and messy.  It’s so worth it to spend the time and effort it takes to make it an enjoyable place to be.

A greenhouse would be great in your climate! We built it ourselves, selveral years ago. I’ve used it so much! 😄

I’m so jealous you have this. I have five more years to retire and hoping it’s my Christmas present/anniversary gift the year I retire!! Yours is so organized and I love the old sink for the potting soil. I plan to start a huge compost pile the year before I retire too! We have the lumber sawn on the farm for the tables, now all I need is the greenhouse. When do you start your seeds and do you have a secret to keeping them from getting “leggy”?

I do hope you get one!! This is my third -the previous two being blown to Oz by our Kansas winds. We built it out of 2x4s and covered it with greenhouse plastic ordered online. Start your seedlings according to the timeline on the seed packets. They are usually a good guideline. I sometimes start perennials in late August to take through the winter. As far as them getting leggy–that’s the best part of a greenhouse!!! The bright light is perfect for seedling growth!! I do need to add however, mine isn’t always that organized. Lol! 🌸. I have had a compost pile for quite a few years also. I love it. I turn mine with the skid steer.
